That film also starred Sung Kang in the role of Han. We know it's not much to go on, but with their past relationship established and the fact that Mr Nobody appeared to be a big fan of Gisele, it's not a stretch to say he might have helped her fake her death.
After all, we don't actually see Gisele dead on screen and you know what that usually means for most blockbusters. Perhaps something from their past came back to haunt Gisele that she needed protection from, or Mr Nobody had a critical job that only Gisele could do if she was 'dead'.
If that is the case, Mr Nobody certainly kept it a secret from Han which would be a bit mean, all things considered. Yet we could easily see Gisele's death retconned in the two-part finale to the series as a bit of fan service.
